THE HISTORY OF PIERRE JOURDAN DAY
Founded in 1694, Haute Cabrière’s history is as deeply rooted as our heritage vines and family ties. On the 22nd of December annually, we celebrate the day in 1694 that the deed for the original farm was granted to Pierre Jourdan, a Hugenoet from the village of Cabrière d’Aigues in France. When the von Arnim family acquired the farm in the 1980s, we reconnected with the estate’s longstanding history and linked the past with the present (and into the future), through our cellar, wine ranges, family, and passion for creating something new out of something traditional.
Now, over 300 years later, guests and Cap Classique fans can sample the Pierre Jourdan range of Cap Classiques, named for the original patron of the land in the tradition of the Champagne region of France, at this special anniversary event.
With special décor and Instagram moments, as well as on-site promotions and special events, be sure to make your reservation for this unique annual celebration.
PIERRE JOURDAN CAP CLASSIQUES
At Haute Cabrière, our Pierre Jourdan Cap Classiques are made from varying blends and percentages of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir (the traditional French Champagne varietals). We find that Chardonnay contributes elegance, while Pinot Noir contributes complexity and structure – the perfect blend. In fact, we love these two varietals so much that our entire portfolio of wines is dedicated to them.
