Uncorked in the Franschhoek wine valley signals the unveiling of new vintages and a celebration the winemaking artistry of the region.
With the pandemic slowly getting under control, we’re excited to welcome guests back with open arms. For Franschhoek Uncorked 2021, Haute Cabrière will be hosting a series of tasting with Cellar Master Takuan von Arnim and Winemaker Tim Hoek.
Guests joining in will be taken on a tour of the history of Haute Cabrière and explore the underground barrel maturation room, adding to this, a sabrage demonstration – the classic art of removing the cork on a bottle Cap Classique with a sabre, something our founder, Achim von Arnim is famous for!
The wine tasting will include three wines which form the cornerstones of Haute Cabrière’s winemaking journey.
Pierre Jourdan Brut | our first Cap Classique, launched in 1986.
Haute Cabrière Chardonnay Pinot Noir (the soon to be releases 2021 vintage) | our first still wine and the blend was a first in South Africa too in 1994.
Haute Cabrière Pinot Noir Réserve | an ode to our passion for Pinot Noir and one of the reason why we are situated where we are!
A light snack of breads and spreads, biltong and olives will be served. All guests are invited to make a day of it and stay a bit longer while dining in our restaurant or enjoy sipping more wines at our tasting room.
