A year of growth and opportunity at the Haute Cabrière Education Centre, managed and run by the incredible Franschhoek Hospitality Academy.
We are celebrating a remarkable first year of the Franschhoek Hospitality Academy at the Haute Cabrière Education Centre. We are passionate about cultivating and sharing local talent within the Franschhoek Valley, and this first year of operation with the Academy has been an incredible honour for us.
With the Academy, we welcomed an exceptional cohort of students, handpicked from a pool of 80 eager applicants, for this first year at our estate premises. Their enthusiasm is contagious, and it’s clear that the Academy’s reputation is going from strength to strength. As the academic year concludes, we’re excited to offer these promising and dedicated individuals invaluable four-month internships at Haute Cabrière and other prestigious Franschhoek establishments.
FELLOW FRANSCHHOEK HOSPITALITY ACADEMY SUPPORTERS
Financial support is the lifeblood of the Academy, and so it is amazing to share that the Cape Wine Auction has come alongside the project as the newest benefactor for the Franschhoek Hospitality Academy. Their generous contributions will significantly impact the students’ development and Academy programmes.
The Academy’s partnership with Tourvest’s restaurant division continues to flourish, with Tourvet’s unwavering commitment to the Academy as a Corporate Social Investment (CSI) project.
Defy has once again exceeded expectations. In addition to their consistent support, they’ve made an extraordinary gesture by sponsoring a student for a three-month internship with the legendary three-Michelin-star Chef Massimo Bottura in Italy! This is an unparalleled opportunity that will undoubtedly shape the candidate’s career, and we so look forward to seeing where this amazing journey takes them over the coming months and years.
The Academy’s collaboration with ITM College in Austria remains a cornerstone of their program. Twelve students have been able to pursue fully sponsored two-year programs through this partnership, with many now excelling in the European hospitality industry. This year – two more talented individuals are preparing to embark on this exciting journey! We wish them every success and hope their time at the Haute Cabrière with Franschhoek Hospitality Academy has been enriching and rewarding.
To further support the Academy and raise awareness for our cause, we’re hosting a “Conscious Travel” fundraising event on November 2nd. This event will bring together US executives for an unforgettable culinary experience curated by Chef Ryan Shell. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Franschhoek Hospitality Academy students.
AS WE LOOK AHEAD
We’re filled with optimism for the future of the Franschhoek Hospitality Academy. The dedication of the students, partners, and supporters fuels our passion for nurturing the next generation of hospitality leaders, and we are so proud to play a role in this exciting and important education opportunity for our valley.
